Sorta Impromptu Sephora Haul + Mini Reviews!

I really did do a big damage this past week at Sephora. I was for the longest time on a makeup spree ban because I was convinced that I had a lot of makeup. Besides, I wanted to save up money for this spanking new DSLR camera, so I couldn't afford to buy anything for the longest time. Starting from the beginning of last week, I kept having these cravings for new makeup...I know what kind of werido has a makeup craving. I know. Me.

Yes, these are all excuses. In the end, I just wanted to buy some makeup. Okay?

I was finally financially stable enough for me purchase the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette! It really did take a lot in me to go and buy this $54 palette. I wrote a full review on this palette here.

You know when you go into a store and a store clerk ask you "Can I help you with anything? Are you looking for anything specific?" and you say "Oh, I'm just shopping around for nothing," and she goes "Well, I can be your personal shopper for today!" and you go "Oh wonderful! I am actually looking for a bronzer that is not too matte." Well, this happened to me yesterday and I ended up getting the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder. I don't have any prior knowledge about this bronzer, but when the store clerk applied this to my skin, it applied so smoothly and perfectly that I had to get it.

Sephora Contour Eye Pencil 12hr Wear Waterproof are 10 dollars for one. I got the shade 07 Girl Talk and 34 Strawberry Macaroon. My Maybelline Silkissme eyeliner in the pink highlight shade was 11 dollars at my nearest CVS. So I decided to get the ones from Sephora to compare the two since it was cheaper than the ones from the drugstore. They are really waterproof and budge proof unlike the Maybelline's, but they are not as intense in its pigment. They are also not as shimmery, metallic, and creamy either. However, I do like the liner in the color Strawberry Macaroon, but Girl Talk...is different. It is very subtle in its color and finish so the metallic shine is not as extreme as I want it to be. Also if you layer this pencil onto your waterline repeatedly, it balls up and becomes chunky, which makes you look like you have eye boogers around your eye area.

Tati from Glamlifeguru gave glowing reviews about this Tarte Tres Chic Park Avenue Princess Contour Palette for its bronzer. I was able to get this one for me and for my friend because it was discounted to $24! A regular full size Tarte amazonian clay blush is around the 25 dollar mark, but here you are not only getting a full size bronzer but also a decent size highlighter and blush. This blush color in Posh seems like a standard pink blush that can work with any kind of skin tone. The highlighter was not my favorite from the swatch, but I have to fully try them on my face to have a more solid review.

I included MAC Pro longwear Concealer on yesterday's Wishlist Wednesday series. I desperately needed a concealer for my face since my face looks like a pepperoni pizza... I got color matched by the MAC makeup artist, and I purchased one in color NW20. This has decent coverage so it would work perfectly when concealing my blemishes.

I usually erase my makeup with olive oil, but I got very lazy in using olive oil because removing the oil residue was a pain. Boscia Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil was highly recommended by many bloggers so I decided to give it a try. You apply this oil onto your dry skin and it breaks up all the grime and makeup it is unbelievable. It is so easy and fast compared to using oilve oil as my makeup remover (olive oil post is here). After using this oil, my skin feels very refreshed and fresh because of its "cooling" properties. It is amazing. I am never going back to olive oil.

Can you tell that I am feeling very lazy these days when it comes to erasing my makeup? I also bought the Ole Henrikson The Clean Truth Cleansing Cloths: Brightening in addition to the cleansing oil for those EXTRA lazy days. I always yearned for a makeup cleansing cloth especially after my long winded nights of partying with friends. But in all honesty, I HATE makeup wipes. It always makes my skin feel terribly sensitive and raw. It also stings my eyes and makes my skin very dry. But this makeup wipe is not your usual makeup wipes that you can get from the drugstore! It smells like heaven (vanilla) and it removes makeup well without creating these unpleasant stinging drying feeling. I absolutely love it, but it is expensive so I am definitely going to use these for those reaaaaaally special days.

I have never bought this much makeup all at once. I felt pretty happy doing it, but I am sure my bank account is crying.

Best,
