I've mentioned this Laneige BB Cushion Foundation [Anti-Aging] in so many of my blog posts without giving a full review on it that it's almost starting to be embarrassing. So here we go!
My first ever cushion foundation was the Laneige BB Cushion Foundation in the Whitening version. I wrote my first SKBeautyDiary blog post/product review about that foundation, which you can find here.
The problem with that foundation was that despite its shiny appearance, it made my face very dry and tight. As the weather started getting drier, I just could not wear that foundation anymore, so I changed my routine to the Anti-Aging version assuming that it is more hydrating than the Whitening version.
The packaging and the idea of this foundation is the same as the Whitening version. The product is distributed from tapping the applicator onto the saturated sponge inside the compact. Because it's so hassle free and easy, it is perfect for those who are always on the go and don't have time to put on makeup in the morning. I can see this working out perfectly while you are on your way to work in the bus or the train, etc. It blends so easily that it is basically fool proof even through bumpy car rides and such. This also has SPF 50 in the foundation, which is an added bonus.
Anyway, now for the specifics of this particular product formulation.
This is before my face before makeup. Yes, I am greatly suffering from acne and hyper-pigmentation as you can see.
It is also more matte, but I would not fully label this foundation as a matte foundation because it still provides a radiant and healthy glow to the skin without looking like a grease ball. Because it's more matte, the longevity is longer as well. And it feels so comfortable on the skin since the formula is so lightweight. And best of all....It does not make my skin feel tight or dry!! Woohoo!
The price of this foundation was around 40 dollars, which is little bit steep compared to the Whitening. But considering the fact that this is for aging skin that requires higher quality of ingredients, I understand why it would be little bit more expensive than the other cushion foundations. In terms of its anti-aging properties, I can't really say on the effectiveness because I am still very young (in my early 20s) so I would not know if this is actually working for my wrinkles and fine lines.
Conclusion
I absolutely love this version of the cushion foundation because it has decent coverage and it makes my skin look very healthy without making me look like a greasy mess. I think this would be perfect for those who are looking for an easy base that they can wear daily and are always on the run. However, this is not the best foundation for photos. With flash photography, you definitely would look like a ghost because of that SPF 50. Anyway, if you are looking for this type of foundation, this is definitely for you!
*UPDATE* (7/30/15)
I tried wearing this during the summer and it does get very dewy. It does not have any matte qualities at ALL. However, even then it is less oily than the Whitening version. It is also not as lightweight as some of the other foundations out there for the summer, so if you live in a humid climate this is not something that I would recommend. If you have very dry skin, maybe, but this is not something that I wear often these days because of these factors.
Best,
