Espoir Dual Brow Designing Pencil Review!

I was running out of my favorite and only brow product, the Anastasia Brow Whiz Pencil, so I had to buy another brow pencil as soon as possible.
The price was 12000 won which is about $12 to $13 dollars.

What is unique about this product is that it has both powder pencil AND tinted brow gel which is VERY convenient and affordable.

Again, I was using my Brow Whiz in Medium Ash which I thought was little too warm for my complexion, so I thought that the shade "dark brown" was a perfect match for my dark hair.  Even from the swatch it was very promising. And as you can see my eyebrows don't need that much help since they are bushy. Only part I need to fill in are the ends to make them look crisp and clean.

The shape of the lead is in this narrow triangle shape, which I never got used to. It is very difficult to create that precise shape that I was able to make with the Anastasia Brow Whiz. In the end, I did get used to the lead, but I still feel awkward using this type of a brow pencil.

The formula itself is sheer and powdery, but it does a great job in making my brows look thick. And because it is powdery, the wear is not that long lasting. I want to say after 5 hours you can see the powder wearing off, which is extremely annoying because I refuse to touch up in the middle of the day (because I'm lazy).

In terms of the brow gel...I don't have that much experience with brow gels so I don't think I can give an accurate review on this part. It is interesting to see that it has a side with the long bristles and a side with the short bristles. I tried using the long part but the application was too messy so it wasn't very useful.

When it is applied the tint from the gel made my eyebrows look very pretty, but it felt like I applied glue onto my eyebrows...stiff and hard. Is this normal for brow gels? Is this NORMAL?!?!? But the feeling does go away after couple of hours. I also noticed that when I used the gel in conjunction with the brow powder, the powder did last a little longer compared to when using it alone.

This is what my brows look like after the application. Thick and bushy, I know.

Anyways, here is the breakdown.

PROS
1. Color match is excellent.
2. It is quite inexpensive.
3. It has both brow gel and the powder pencil, so very convenient.
4. Gel does give you a pretty look and it does hold your brows.

CONS
1. Wear time is short. You have to reapply.
2. The application is difficult because the lead is thick.
3. You can't make a precise line, so at the end it could look quite messy and dark.
4. This doesn't blend that well, making your brows look unnatural.
5. The brow gel can stiffen up. Uncomfortable.

In conclusion, I definitely think you could save up and get a better one. Ahem...*cough* Anastasia Brow Whiz...

I am already regretting spending my money on this mediocre brow product...and now I really understand why Anastasia Brow Whiz is so touted.

Best,
