SUNDAY FACE! My Makeup Routine! #1

I decided to create this series in my blog because I thought it would be nice once in a while to show what I am using currently for my makeup routine.

Every Sunday, I always wear makeup to go to church. During the week, I don't wear makeup that often because I am really lazy when it comes to taking the gunk off my face at night. This doesn't mean that I don't take the makeup off or anything. Believe me I do for my own sanity, but I dread taking it off after a long day. Sometimes you just want to get in the shower, and jump into bed you know (Am I right or am I right)? So, usually during the week, I go out with just sunscreen. If I need to meet a friend or something, I put on my brows and curl my eyelashes, but that is it. However, Sunday is different because I am less comfortable with the people I go to church with, so I try to look my best when I am going to church.

Anyway that was a very long explanation for something that was not very necessary. Sorry about that.

Here is the look that I went with yesterday:

I always go for clean and fresh look, and nothing else. Sometimes if I feel the need to show a little bit of a "sex-appeal," (lol) I add a cat line and a contoured face. If I don't need to be sexy, this is usually the look that I go for. Besides... I am going to church!

FACE
I am using the Laneige BB Cushion Foundation as my overall base product. I have a full review post on this foundation on my blog here. This is a light to medium coverage foundation that is very build-able. It is also very light weight and gives off a very natural to dewy finish to the skin which I love. It also has sunscreen of SPF 50 included in the foundation which is perfect for everyday wear.

On top of the Laneige cushion, I dusted my T-zone with the La Prairie Cellular Treatment Foundation Powder Finish (long ass name). It is a light coverage powder that gets rid of shine without completely mattifying the skin.  I have been using this powder for about a year now, and I don't personally think it does any miracles for my skin. It is just an average performing powder that is extremely overpriced ($80). I understand that La Prairie is a luxury skincare brand...but I do not think it is great enough to go out and spend $80 dollars on a powder.

CHEEKS
Clinique Cheek Pop Blush in Ginger is a very interesting blush. It seems like a powder blush from just looking at its appearance, but it performs like a cream blush. It is the mix between the two (?). It is a sheer natural blush that gives off a sheen without using ANY glitter or shimmer. Overall it gives off a very natural and dewy looking face without looking like a grease ball. I especially love the color Ginger because it suits my yellow undertone skin very well.

EYES
Perricone MD No Concealer Concealer is the concealer that I used for my dark circles. The shade is in no. 2 and it has a salmon undertone that counteracts very well with dark under eyes. I will do a more in-depth blog post about this concealer in the future, but for now... it's an alright concealer.

Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze is the eye shadow I have used for this look. I don't usually use eye shadows because I feel very weird in them (perhaps because of my poor makeup skills). However, blogging really makes me motivated to try new looks and products so I decided to go for it for Sunday. This cream eye shadow does last a long time on the skin, but i only had this for a month and the texture of the product in the pan has already changed. Initially I thought it was very smooth and creamy with a bit of lightness like a mousse, but now it is hard and almost gritty in its texture. Anyway I loved the slight natural almost there but not really smokey eye effect, but I could have intensified the shadow just a little bit. It was too natural looking.

Almay Get Up & Grow Mascara in Blackest Black. This is almost like a first impression review because I have never had the chance to use this before yesterday. I do think it is a wonderful mascara for the price (it was on sale at Ulta for $4 dollars and something cents!!). It doesn't clump, but it gives great length and volume AND it does not smudge for a non-waterproof mascara!! I will update on this mascara later, but I like it so far.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Brown or Medium Ash is almost everyone's favorite. I love it as well, but the price is little steep considering the amount that you are getting. Medium Ash is tad bit dark for me, but it is not too red or black which matches fairly well with my black hair color.

LIPS
I forgot to take the picture with my lip color!! I used Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker in Nudist. It is a perfect MLBB (my lips but better) color for my lips. The nice thing about this lip product is that it is a mixture between lip gloss, lip stick, and a lip blam. It is very shiny with a little bit of gold glitter in them and it is very moisturizing to your lips like a lip balm. I absolutely love the Soap & Glory's lip crayons for these reasons. I highly highly recommend this line if you are looking for a fuss free lip color that is not very pigmented.

That is it! I will probably do another posting on my makeup later this week, since I am going to a party this weekend! I hope you enjoyed this and I'll talk to you later!

Best,
SK
