My friend's birthday party or outing is coming up this weekend, so I decided to get her a little something something. I usually get my friends cosmetics and sometimes skincare, but basically beauty products because I just really like buying makeup products and the whole process behind it. Swatching the products...looking at different finishes and colors...just being in the makeup store...I LOVE IT ALL. So I don't even think about getting them something else. I just go straight into Sephora without a question.
And Sorry my friend X...your makeup has been tampered with...I just can't leave new makeup alone... BUT I HAVE NOT SWATCHED THEM or touched them. You might see a little indentation on the packaging from my fingernails, but that's it. Sorry...:(
My friend X is REALLY picky...like hella picky. I feel like I have been friends with her since elementary school, and I got her numerous numerous amounts of gifts that she did not end up liking. So when it came to picking out a gift that she might like, I was little wary about shopping for her present. So as a conclusion, I chose things that could be easily categorized as basic, the things that can be worn at anytime and by anyone. So I went into MAC.
Cosmo in this picture looks...like a vampy dark red color. I so so so so apologize for the terrible quality of the photo and the lightening... I am mad poor.
Anywho. Cosmo in real life DOES NOT look like that. Mac described this shade as "pink coco," and it is in the amplified creme finish category. I am not sure what that means, but when I tried it on it was creamy with an opaque consistency. It is a mauvy nude pink color with a hint of berry that should suit a lot of skin tones. Well.. it suits on me. My friend is a TAD bit darker and less yellow than me but still it should suit her as well. It is a very universal color, so it should fit everyone.
Margin is a GORGEOUS color as a blush. It might not be everyone's cup of tea because of the shimmer aspect of it, but I absolutely love it. It is in their Frost line, which I believe means that it is quite shimmery. This blush is in the peach color range with a golden shimmer. If you are interested in making your skin bronzed and golden instead of having that flushed look from the pink based blushes, this blush is definitely something to try. It is not dark enough to fully contour your face with it, but when applied to the cheeks, it really makes you look tan and fresh as if you just came back from the beach. Ah, I just love it.
Hopefully my friend will forgive me for touching her stuff, and actually like the stuff.
If she doesn't...well I have a gift receipt this time, so she can return it if she wants.
Would you buy makeup for your friends?
Best,
SK
