Another mascara review! Covergirl came out with a new mascara with its pretty in pink packaging. Since I love the Covergirl Clumpcrusher mascara, I decided to try another mascara from Covergirl.
Please keep in mind that my lashes are very short and straight so this mascara might work differently depending on the type of eyelashes.
This is the overall look.
This mascara was designed to give a soft and yet full lashes with its mousse like formula that is perfect for everyday wear. And for your information, this mascara is the non-waterproof version.
Instead of breaking down the review with pros and cons, I decided to do dissect this by creating three different categories: volume, length, curl hold, longevity, and others.
Volume: Virtually, there is no volume. It gives very slight volume, but not enough to create any noticeable difference.
Length: Very little, but it is there. Slight elongation, but that is it.
Curl Hold: Very little here as well. It doesn't uncurl your lashes, but it doesn't hold them up as well as a waterproof mascara.
Longevity: Do you see the smudges under my eyes? I took these pictures 3 hours after I applied them. This formula, perhaps because of its mousse-like consistency, is very prone to smudging.
Others: This creates very clumpy and chunky lashes, which I HATE.
As shown from the picture, balls or clumps of mascara pieces are stuck on the wand and distributes them on to your lashes when applying. It is all kinds of mess because of these clumpy chunks. Keep in mind that I bought this mascara last week, so it is not the matter of being dried out.
IN CONCLUSION:
Surely, this does give a very soft texture to your lashes like it has claimed to be. However, I do not recommend this, there are definitely better mascaras out there in the drugstore. I am fine with the idea of a very natural and non-dramatic lash look, so I can definitely forgo the fact that this mascara gives mediocre length, volume, and curl hold. However, the fact that there are chunks of mascara formula that are being stuck to the lashes distresses me when working with this mascara. It is just very hard to manipulate because it clumps the lashes very easily and leaves these particles on your lashes. If you are in the market for a mascara that gives a natural effect, I highly recommend the Covergirl Clump Crusher (the green tube: mini review here) instead.
