The Face Shop LOVELY ME:EX YOU & EYES Eyeshadows REVIEW!

How OBNOXIOUS is the name of these eyeshadows?

I bought these three out of whim one day because they were amazingly cheap. I believe I paid around $6 dollars at a store located in the U.S., but in Korea it is about $4 dollars and $2 dollars on sale. The Face Shop is one of the cheapest roadshop (or drugstore) brands in Korea, so I was little hesitant to try their products because of their cheap ingredients.

However,

I'm glad I bought these eyeshadows because I've been using them consecutively for the past 4-5 months!

#23 Toast is a matte mid-tone warm brown similar to MAC Soba.

#24 Chocolate is a matte grey-tone brown.

#16 Beautiful Orange is a satin orangy coral color with a hint of gold shimmer. When it is on the eye, the shimmer is less noticeable.

PROS

1. Price. Obviously.

2. The blendability is as great as other high-end eyeshadows! I wouldn't say it is as blendable as Makeupgeek eyeshadows but it's still awesome.

3. Buildable from sheer to opaque pigmentation. Sometimes we want a sheer wash of color and sometimes we want an strong high color intensity type of a look. Well, this can achieve both of those looks! I absolutely love that the first application is sheer but not nonexistent.

4. No fall outs! It really stays in place!

5. Soft and finely milled! So it doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes at all!

CONS

1. The packaging is poor. Sure it looks great, but the joints of the lids make squeaky sounds whenever I open or close them. Some are looser and some are tighter which worries me a little bit. (Google casternets)

2. High percentage of talc included in the ingredients. This can be a determining factor for some organic/all natural/wholeliving/gluten free/"I only eat organic" consumers out there.

3. Longevity is not the greatest, but it is not horrible either. It is just mediocre. At the end of the night, the color does fade.

4. The Face Shop stores are little difficult to locate if you don't live around L.A., New York, or Virginia area.

In Conclusion:

Don't expect this to be the BEST eyeshadow you have purchased ever. But this could be the cheapest and the most "it got the job done" type of a product you could have in your collection. If you are starting out with makeup or want to buy cheap single eyeshadows, then I say GO FOR IT!! However, if you already have series and series of MAC or Makeupgeek eyeshadows, then you can definitely skip on this.

Do you like The Face Shop? Have you ever tried cheap cheap eyeshadows before? Let me know!

Best,
