Week of DRUGSTORE MASCARAS! Maybelline the Falsies Volum' Express

Today is the first day of Drugstore Mascara week!! I am very excited for this review, and I apologize for the late post! It was a rather long day.

Anyway, excuses aside, here we go!

Yes... I need to do my eyebrows. I know.

I know that many women out there LOVES this mascara and it looks great on them! In fact, I asked one of my friends which mascara she was using because her lashes looked so long and voluminous, but she was using this particular mascara. But for me...I just don't like how it performs on my stupid Asian lashes.

I bought the regular waterproof version of the mascara in the most blackest color. The wand is a medium size that is not that difficult to maneuver, and it is curved slightly for the corner lashes.

HERE ARE THE PROS AND CONS

PROS
1. The Longevity: It lasts all day on the lashes without decreasing in its size! I hate when mascaras disappear towards the end of the day, but this mascara stays put all day!

2. Smudge proof: It does not smudge what so ever, which probably relates to number 1.

3. Curls: This mascara is like hairspray for your eyelashes. It holds your eyelashes super well. The best curling mascara I have ever used. You almost don't have to curl your lashes when planning to use this mascara because of the formula itself curls the lashes. I had to be careful when curling my mascara with the eyelash curler because I curl my lashes in its extremities since they are stick straight, but when using this my lashes were so curly that it was almost hugging or cupping my mono-lids.

CONS
1. Minimal Volume: Surprisingly, it is not very volumizing and it is not very build-able either. It gives little volume to no volume, despite its claims of creating a false eyelash-like look. At the end the lashes clump together when it is applied too much.

2. No Length: Along with the volume, no length is added to the lashes. Length is super important for me when it comes to mascara because I personally prefer longer lashes than voluminous lashes. There are some thickness when using this mascara, but length of the lashes seems to stay the same.

3. Difficult removing process: Yes, it lasts a long time without smudging, but it won't come off. I use olive oil and it is still difficult to remove. Oh by the way, I lost like two lashes trying to remove this.

In conclusion,

I like it, but I hate it at the same time. If you have beautiful lashes but need little bit of help when it comes to curling the lashes, this mascara is DEFINITELY for you. Also, because of its super waterproof formula, I think this is a great mascara to use before using another mascara. This is also great one coat mascara for your natural days when you just want the lashes to be curled.

But personally I will NOT be using this in my daily routine. Ever.

Best,
SK
