Makeupgeek CRAZE! Makeupgeek HAUL & REVIEW!! (Plus SUNDAY FACE #2)

I was SO excited for this shipment you have no idea. Makeupgeek makeup line has been raved about many many people on youtube/blogs, and i was so curious that I decided to bite the bullet and purchase a z-palette, pan eyeshadows, and blushes (my fave).

I wasn't about to totally empty my bank account, so I decided on these colors to further expand the diversity of my makeup collection. I have a NAKED 2 palette, which consists of mainly cool toned neutral shadows, so I was kind of craving a warmer toned shadows to balance out the cool tones.

CREME BRULEE: This shadow is a light brown matte shade with heavy dose of peachy and warm red undertone to it. When I apply this on, it almost looks like a brick red color.

PURELY NAKED: This is a general medium brown with specks of glitter. When you apply it though, the glitter sort of disappears, creating more of a matte look.

CUPCAKE: This is a matte purple pink color that is in the grey neutral side. I saw one blogger use this color on herself and I thought it was absolutely pretty. I didn't know what I was thinking, but I bought it.

COSMOPOLITAN: This is a very shiny dusty rose pink metallic shade with gold shimmer in it. This is a very beautiful color and also VERY pigmented in its color. I have heard that this is a dupe for MAC's "Expensive Pink," but I have not personally experienced MAC's. It is absolutely divine to look at because of its intensity in color and the crazy metallic shimmers. So beautiful.

BEACHES AND CREAM: This is a  matte ivory color with a hint of peach. Perfect for days when you are not feeling the overly highligted inner corners.

PEACH SMOOTHIE: This is a matte straight up creamy milky peach color. I haven't personally used it yet, but I felt like this would suit my skintone very well.

There are couple things that I have noticed:

CONS
1. People RAVE about them for their high quality and highly pigmented eyeshadows, but...I don't know. When I look at other people's swatches and compare my swatches, they don't look same at all. Did I get a fluke? I don't understand. Where is the pigmented part? This especially applies to Purely Naked and Beaches and Cream.

Cosmopolitan however is FABULOUS. This one truly delivers in terms of pigmentation, but others...I am not quite sure.

I am not at all saying that these eyeshadows are not pigmented at all! It is just that compared to the other swatch pictures, it does not look similar at all.

2. The powdery-ness. Now this could be because I was trying to do a heavier swatch, but the powder gets everywhere in the palette. Is this normal?

Now,

Let us take a breather, because...I actually love these eyeshadows. Here are all the pros:

PROS
1. The price goddamn it. It is amazing! It is $5.99 per one eyeshadow, which is completely drugstore price.

2. When you actually put these colors onto the lids, they ARE really pretty. Although I have said that the pigmentation was an issue, when they actually get onto my eyes, the issue kind of disappears. They are pigmented "enough."

3. The BLENDIBILITY!!! They blend. like. a. dream. period.

4. There is no fallout. I know right? You would think I would say that there is a lot of fallout because I mentioned that they are powdery. Psh. No. When they actually get onto your eyes, they are totally fine.

5. The longevity. They do last a pretty darn long time and I was not wearing a special primer or a concealer on top of my lids. They just stick onto your lids and just stays there.

In conclusion, I love them and highly recommend them if you are curious about the Makeupgeek line or if you are new to the makeup world and need basic eyeshadow colors. Besides, they are really affordable.

Left: Infatuation; Right: Smitten

Now blushes, I absolutely love.

INFATUATION: It is a matte dark almost terra cotta colored blush that is perfect when you don't feel like wearing a bronzer. Also when you want to be a bronzed but flushed goddess, this blush would be perfect.

SMITTEN: It looks very orange in the pan, but when wearing it on the cheeks, it pulls out a hint of pink which suits many skintones.

So for the SUNDAY FACE... (I know this is getting long but bear with me):

I used CREME BRULEE all over the lid with BEACHES AND CREAM in the inner part of my lids. I used Snakebite from the Naked 2 Palette on my lash line to create a soft cat eye illusion.

On my cheeks, I am wearing INFATUATION, which ties the matte warm look together.

On my lips I am wearing SEE SHEER lipstick from MAC.

This look is very natural and soft because of the matte shadows and blush, but it is really appropriate for the fall weather.

I hope you enjoy this long ass post, and have you tried Makeupgeek?

Best,
SK
